Trinity Washington University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Human Relations within the coeducational School of Professional Studies (SPS), which offers innovative programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels designed for adult learners. The Assistant Professor of Human Relations is a full-time, twelve-month, contract renewable position.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful applicant will manage the Human Relations program; teach courses and ensure currency of the Human Relations and related curricula; advise students; supervise and collaborate with adjunct faculty; assist in promoting the Human Relations degree program and in recruitment efforts; assess and report on the quality and rigor of student learning; and establish professional connections and partnerships in the region. The successful candidate should be able to work with collegiate deans and other administrators in considering programmatic development not only for the Human Relations program but for other directly-related fields.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants for this position will hold a terminal degree in a field directly related to the disciplines associated with Human Relations (i.e., psychology, sociology, counseling, or social work); have extensive practical work experience involving social work and/or human relations, and have at least three years of teaching experience in higher education, preferably with part-time, adult learners. Experience with curriculum design and delivery is strongly preferred. Preference will be given to the candidate who can demonstrate excellence in teaching and potential for both scholarly and service contributions.
