President of American Counseling Association visits Trinity

July 25, 2014 - Dr. Cirecie West-Olatunji (seated, center), Immediate Past President of the American Counseling Association, visited Dr. Mark Bolden’s Multicultural Counseling class on Wednesday, July 23rd where she shared her experience as a counselor, leader, researcher, and social justice advocate. Dr. Bolden’s publications and presentations

July 8, 2014 - Dr. Mark Bolden, Assistant Professor of Counseling will be presenting on 2 panels at the Association of Black Psychologists conference in Indianapolis, IN, in July 14-19. Dr. Bolden recently finished editing his first issue of the Psych Discourse News Journal of the Association of Black Psychologists. He is Managing Editor and recently assumed responsibility for the summer issue, which is in press. Dr. Bolden’s proposal to present at the Caribbean Psychology conference in Suriname in November was accepted. He will be working with a team of scholars to present a 4-paper symposium. Cosier has new publication

May 2, 2014 - Assistant Professor Meghan Cosier has just published a chapter in the new book, Becoming a Great Inclusive Educator, edited by Scot Danforth (Peter Lang International Academic Publishers, April 30, 2014).  Dr. Cosier’s chapter is titled, “Using Numbers and Narrative to Support Inclusive Schooling.” Continue reading

Jordan James receives Ann Crook Coluzzi Award for Teacher Interns

Dr. Cosier Presents at AERA

April 9, 2014 - Dr. Meghan Cosier, Assistant Professor of Special Education,  presented papers on two research projects related to Disability Studies and teacher preparation at the American Educational Research Association (AERA) annual meeting held in Philadelphia April 4-7. Her research focused on the use of Disability Studies as a way to transform the philosophies and practices of teachers who work with students with disabilities. Continue reading

Dr. Greer to have essay published

March 19, 2014 - Dr. Cynthia Greer, Associate Professor of Counseling and Director of Educating for Change, will have an essay published in the literary magazine, the Little Patuxent Review.  The essay, Doris and the Dolls, is about Dr. Greer’s personal experience with skin color issues  and the impact of the Doll Study that was an integral part of the Supreme court decision on Brown vs. Board of Education.
