Trinity's Financial Support of D.C. Students

Trinity provides a substantial financial commitment to make the dream of a college education a reality for D.C. students. Trinity's significant financial support to D.C. students is unsubsidized institutional aid; Trinity does not have a significant endowment to support this expense.

Trinity awarded more than $6.4 million in financial scholarships to 429 D.C. residents enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences and who have received D.C. TAG funds since the program's inception in 2000.  These financial awards are supported entirely out of Trinity's budget. (Trinity's total annual budget:  $21 million).

These 429 D.C. residents have received $2.0 million in D.C. Tag awards, $2.3 in PELL grants.

DC students at Trinity have also received more than $300,000 in grant awards from the D.C. College Assistance Program (DC-CAP).

Trinity awarded more than $1.6 million in financial aid to D.C. residents in fall 2006.  These students also receive:

  • Nearly $800,000 in PELL grants
  • $345,626 in D.C. TAG funds
  • $280,000 in D.C. LEAP awards
  • More than $5 million in federal loans
  • Nearly $200,000 in private loans
