Disability Support
As a matter of policy and practice, Trinity complies with the requirements of federal laws regarding nondiscrimination of individuals with disabilities. DSS is the office designated for verifying disabilities, evaluating documentation, and recommending accommodations to professors if necessary. Students with physical or learning disabilities who may require accommodations are encouraged to identify themselves to the Director upon admittance to the University.
Documentation Guidelines
Please read this information regarding the documentation requirements of both physical and learning disabilities. Students or health care professionals who have questions not covered in the guidelines should contact the Academic Services Center at (202) 884-9681
To initiate services and request accommodations, students should make an appointment with Melissa Earnest (202-884-9681), Library 103, before the semester begins or as soon as possible thereafter.
The Director will consult with students to determine the appropriate accommodations and/or modifications needed.
The Director will work with students to develop an individual learning plan that will enable students to reach their academic potential.
Students must complete a Request for Letter to Professors form each semester in accordance with confidentiality regulations.
Students with learning disabilities and other disabilities are encouraged to take advantage of the tutoring services offered by the Academic Services Center and services offered by the Health and Wellness Center. In addition, students are encouraged to attend study skills workshops offered throughout the semester by the Center.
