Monday, October 29: Trinity is closed all day Monday and will be closed on Tuesday, October 30. Check your Trinity e-mail for updates. President McGuire sent the following e-mail message on Monday, October 29, at 11:45 am:
TO: The Trinity Community
From: President Pat McGuire
Because of the ongoing threats of damage, destruction and disruption posed by the storm, Trinity will remain closed on Tuesday, October 30. The height of the storm is coming in tonight and will be fierce. All regional governments throughout the northeast continue to urge people to stay home.
Please be advised that Trinity’s campus is closed to visitors and anyone other than essential personnel. Resident students may not have visitors. Faculty and staff who are not essential personnel should not attempt to come to campus until the storm is over.
We do have crews for security, food service and facilities on campus, and I know you join me in expressing our gratitude to them for making sure the campus stays operative and our residents remain safe, warm and well fed.
Faculty and students: we urge you to take advantage of Moodle to update and download assignments, and to stay on top of as much coursework as possible at this time. Given the threat of power outages, we urge you to download assignments and materials that you can read on your own computers or portable devices.
We will keep you apprised of developments on campus and throughout the Washington region. With the Metro system completely shut down, and other public transportation very limited, as well as the other area closures, I hope that you are able to remain at home or in a comfortable, safe place.
Please let me know if you have any questions or comments to help the Trinity community at this time.
With thanks for your cooperation, and thanks for our essential staff who are here,
President Pat McGuire
