Sunday, September 9: Power Outage, Trinity is CLOSED EXCEPT for Nursing Clinicals in Library
In yesterday’s powerful storm, a massive tree near the Science Building fell across a power pole and power lines knocking out power to Main Hall, the Science Building, Alumnae Hall and the Trinity Center. PEPCO has indicated that the repair crews will be here sometime today to remove the tree and restore power. We do not currently have their estimated time of arrival for this. Meanwhile, please note the following:
Trinity is CLOSED with this exception:
Nursing clinical classes scheduled to take place in the Library this afternoon will meet as scheduled. The Library has power. Please note that the driveway leading to the library parking lot is closed, as is the parking lot itself, so that the power company trucks can have access to that area. So, if you are driving to campus today for the nursing clinical meetings, please park on the front circle of Main Hall or elsewhere on campus.
Resident students who live in Main Hall and Alumnae Hall have been temporarily relocated to Cuvilly Hall.
Main Hall is CLOSED and students should not plan to come to Main Hall.
Alumnae Hall is without power, but Sodexo is preparing and serving meals for resident students.
The Trinity Center is without power and is CLOSED.
The Science building is CLOSED.
As of 9 am Sunday morning we have every expectation that PEPCO will repair the damage and that we will be open as usual on Monday morning. However, knowing the delays in power restoration after storms in this region, we ask everyone to check back on email, text alerts (text Follow Trinitydcalerts to 40404) or the Trinity hotline (202-884-9009) to learn our status for Monday.
Thanks for your cooperation during this time.
