Owens Named Association of Division III Independents Student-Athlete of the Month for November

December 14, 2010 - For Immediate Release December 13, 2010   OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) named women’s basketball forward Danielle Owens (Washington, D.C.), a senior from Trinity Washington University, its Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of November.  Owens recorded four double-doubles in the month of November as she averaged 13 points and 12 rebounds per game. The criminal justice major recorded a team-high 19 rebounds in a contest with PSU-York on Nov. 17 and has led her team in both rebounding and scoring in the last three games. Continue reading

Association of Division III Independents Names 2010 All-Independent Women’s Soccer Teams

Owens receives Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week award

December 7, 2010 -    For Immediate Release December 6, 2010 OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Trinity Washington University senior forward Danielle Owens (Washington, D.C.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week. In a pair of games on the week, Owens averaged 16.5 points, 13 rebounds and 2.5 steals per contest en route to her third and fourth double-double on the year. She tallied 19 points, 14 rebounds and three steals on Dec. 2 against Lancaster Bible and followed that performance with and 14-point, 12-rebound outing against Valley Forge on Dec. 4. Tigers lose close one..

December 3, 2010 - December 2, 2010 The Trinity Tigers lost by a bucket last night as they fell to the Chargers of Lancaster Bible 53-55.  The Tigers were down 9 at the half but fought back in the second half outscoring the Chargers 30-23.   With two and half minutes remaining the Tigers tied the game 51-51 but were unable to hold of the Chargers suffering their second loss of the season.  Senior Danielle Owens led the Tigers in scoring with 19 points and 14 rebounds.  Sophomore Ellen Bethea followed with 11 points, 3 assists and 5 rebounds.  The Tigers are now 3-2.  Box … Continue reading

Tigers win on the road

December 1, 2010 - November 30, 2010 The Trinity Tigers won their first road game last night beating the Crimson Eagles from Philadelphia Biblical University 64-59.  The Eagles had a 57-52 edge with a minute and a half remaining but theTigers full-court press erased the deficit by forcing three Eagle turnovers on three consecutive possessions. The Tigers, with a 9-0 spurt, went from down five to ahead by four in less than 60 seconds.
