Student-Athletes attend Title IX Announcement

April 21, 2010 - On Tuesday afternoon a group of Trinity student-athletes attended the announcement by Vice President Biden regarding changes to Title IX.  Surrounded by women athletes and Olympians Vice President Biden announced that the Obama administration is rolling back a controversial Title IX compliance requirement enacted under the Bush administration.  The 2005 policy allowed schools to rely on a survey to prove they were meeting interest in athletic programs for women. If female students failed to respond to the survey, schools were allowed to conclude that women were not interested in additional athletic programs and had no obligation to provide them. Tigers Lacrosse and Tennis….

April 21, 2010 - Tuesday April 20th The Trinity Tigers Lacrosse and Tennis teams travelled to Chambersburg, PA to face Wilson College Tuesday afternoon.    The Tigers tennis team unfortunately fell short and finished their season 2-9.   Karita Richardson won her singles match 6-3, 6-4.  The lacrosse team also fell short Tuesday losing 9-7.  Freshman, Bianca Sullivan scored 3 goals, Stefonie Kelly added 2 and Brenda Martinez and Rebeka Bautista both netted a goal a piece.  In goal, Bree Martin had 8 saves on the day.  The Tigers finished the season 1-9. Tigers Soccer

April 5, 2010 - April 3, 2010 The Trinity Tigers Soccer team spent Saturday afternoon at the Maryland Soccerplex volunteering their time for the Kicks Against Breast Cancer Event.    The Kicks Against Breast Cancer Tournament honors the memory of Claudia Mayer, who died of breast cancer at the age of 47 in 1996.  Claudia was a woman who displayed extraordinary courage as she battled the disease that eventually took her life.   The tournament is held on an annual basis in April of each year attracting top collegiate soccer teams from throughout the United States.  Players also contribute off the field by accepting a challenge to raise $1000 per … Continue reading
