Health Advocacy Curriculum

The MSA in Health Advocacy prepares advocates who promote health, prevent disease, disability, and premature death through efforts to educate, inform, and promote voluntary behavior change activities in the individual, the family, or the community.  Develop your knowledge of health disparities, cultural competence, and needs assessment to plan and implement programs, coordinate services, and evaluate programs. 

 Health Advocates are employed in schools, colleges, workplaces, medical care settings, and public health settings.  Graduate prepared for CHES certification (a voluntary credential) from the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing.  Health care advocates are employed in a variety of positions, community health advocate, health care navigator, health outreach coordinator, health education specialist, health intervention coordinator, health program evaluator, public health advocate, health care case manager, family care counselor, or community health coach.
