Peggy Lewis, Ph.D., Executive Dean, School of Business and Graduate Studies & School of Professional Studies

Dr. Peggy LewisDr. Peggy Lewis is a native Washingtonian and an alumna of Trinity. She received her Ph.D., “with distinction” in History from Howard University in May 2013.  Her dissertation title: “Preaching, Praying and Strategic Media Planning:  From Montgomery to Selma, How the Civil Rights Movement Forced Journalists to Do Their Job.” She earned her M.A. in History at Howard in 2007. Prior to Trinity, she was an Assistant Professor and Broadcast Sequence Coordinator in the Department of Journalism at Howard University. Before coming to academia, she spent nearly 20 years as a broadcast journalist in Washington, New York and Miami before embarking on a career in public service which included working for President William Jefferson Clinton, First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton, U.S. Secretary of Labor Alexis Herman, and Children’s Defense Fund Founder and President, Marian Wright Edelman.
