Nicole A. Campbell, Associate Vice President for Admissions

Nicole brings with her over 10 years of admissions experience to Trinity’s Schools of Professional Studies, Education, and Nursing and Health Professions.  She recently relocated back to Washington, DC from her hometown area in Northern NY, where she served as Director of Admissions at the State University of NY at Canton.  Her interest has been focused on helping students of all ages through the admissions process.  Previously she served as Director of Admissions and Marketing at The Barnesville School, in Montgomery County, MD, as well as Director of Graduate Admissions and Financial Aid at American University’s School of International Service. Having worked in numerous admissions roles, she is committed to providing a seamless, customer-focused admissions process for each student.

Alycia Johnson, Director of Admissions and Advising

B.A. Media Studies and Organizational Communication, Northeastern University; M.A. Communication Studies, University of Miami

Alycia is a native of Massachusetts.  Alycia has worked in the Admissions field for several years.  Prior to joining Trinity, Alycia worked as an Admissions Manager for 2tor, Inc. where she recruited students for the University of Southern California.  Alycia has a passion for diversity and has worked as a Diversity Specialist for EMC Corporation; her master’s thesis focused on intercultural communication and promoting diversity within corporate organizations.  She enjoys helping others reach their goals and learning about different cultures.

In her spare time,  Alycia enjoys working with youth.  She is a Youth Leader at her church and is also the former Chairperson for her Sorority’s Delta G.E.M.S. program.  Alycia loves dogs and has spent time volunteering in various animal shelters.  Alycia is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Gina is a native of Boston, Massachusetts. She started her career in the cosmetic industry and has plus ten years of extensive sales management experience from General Manager to Area Sales Manager.  Prior to joining Trinity University, she spent 7 years in education counseling and management for the University of Phoenix, ECPI College of Technology / Medical Careers Institute, and Boston University’s College of Communication / Center for Digital Imaging Arts. As an education advocate, she brings experience, high level energy and passion to this position. Gina resides in Northern Virginia with her son.

Gilmore, StevenSteven Gilmore, Assistant Director of Admissions

Steven is a native of Cecil County, Maryland.  In college, Steven actively participated in campus life as a member of the UMBC Mama’s Boys A Cappella Group, Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity and the Student Government Association.  He found his passion for higher education through working within his university’s Office of Admissions as an Undergraduate Admissions Fellow and an Orientation Peer Advisor.  Currently, Steven serves as a choir director for church in Maryland.  He has also sung with the Baltimore Choral Arts Society and the UMBC Camerata.  With these previous groups, Steven has performed at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, the Music Center at Strathmore and Carnegie Hall.

Mise, CharnitaCharnita Mise, Assistant Director for Admissions

Charnita Mise is a Trinity Alum, earning her MBA in 2010.  She also holds a Bachelors Degree from Bowie State University which she received in 1999. Prior to joining Trinity Washington University, she worked as a legal recruiting coordinator for Beveridge & Diamond PC, and as a summer program coordinator for Covington & Burling LLP.  As the Assistant Director of Admissions, she assists potential students seeking admission into Trinity’s undergraduate program for the School of Professional Studies.  Charnita enjoys spending time with family and friends, and reading classic novels and books on U.S. history.

Graduate Recruiter, MBA and Organizational Management (MSA)

Pizza Ashby brings more than 15 years of legal, business management and executive office operations expertise.  As the business development recruiter for Trinity Washington University, she is responsible for coordinating informational outreach activities that promote Trinity’s academic programs, strengthening existing associations and enhancing its relationships with government, private, public and non-profit organizations in the Washington, DC region.

Ms. Ashby served as a Professional Staffer and Outreach Coordinator during her tenure at the House Committee on Homeland Security.  In these capacities, she regularly worked on an array of policies with officials at the highest levels of the Federal, State and local governments, humanitarian organizations, and public and private stakeholders.  Also, Ms. Ashby, collaborated with varied industry subject matter experts to develop and execute informational sessions and roundtable discussions with Members of Congress to advance legislative and oversight initiatives, and secured speaking engagements for Congressional Members and staff.  Prior to working at the Committee, she functioned as the Chief of Staff to the Chairman and the Manager of Client Services for a government relations and public policy firm.

Additionally, Ms. Ashby worked as a paralegal and supervisor at an intellectual property and communications technology law firms.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Master of Business Administration degrees from Trinity Washington University.

 

Strothe, AlishaAlisha Strother, Data Entry Specialist

Alisha was born and raised in Forestville, Maryland in Prince Georges County. She graduated from Largo Senior High school in 2007 and received her Bachelors of Arts in English at Trinity in 2011, graduating magna cum laude.  In that same year, Alisha was awarded the Mary Boyle McCrory Award ’22 for Excellence in Writing. She is a member Phi Beta Kappa honor society. Currently, she is pursuing a Masters in Library and Information Science at Catholic University of America with a concentration in Cultural Heritage Information Management. Her passion lies in reading and writing, in both poetry and fictional works.
