Trinity’s program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling provides for comprehensive study and supervised field training dedicated to preparing individuals for entry into the counseling profession. You will receive individual attention to your interests and goals from faculty members who are active professionally in their areas and who, as instructors committed to social justice, are engaged with culturally diverse persons and communities.
Our program will prepare you to take the Licensed Professional Counselor (L.P.C.) examination and to meet state certification requirements of the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia, and you may apply for certification in other states as well. Accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (N.C.A.T.E.), our program is devoted to preparing scholar-practitioners for professional careers in a variety of community settings and independent practices. Our graduates are qualified to provide individual and group counseling, to implement assessment and consultation services and to develop, direct and evaluate comprehensive counseling services.
