Language & Cultural Studies
Washington is a leading international citywhere better to study the languages and cultures of today’s global society? Over the past decade, relations with both Latin America and Arab nations have had increased importance for the United States. Trinity’s language and cultural studies program is the perfect opportunity to learn about these influential societies through study of their language and culture.
Students in the language and cultural studies program learn about the contemporary and historical contributions of diverse cultures while developing their language skills in Spanish or Arabic. Trinity’s professors illustrate how individual values within a society have sociocultural, geo-political, and economic consequences. Internship opportunities at many of Washington’s cultural organizations provide real-world experience in dealing with other cultures. Students are also encouraged to study abroad for one or two semesters.
Students study language and cultural studies at Trinity as a major, minor, or elective courses.
