About Us

The School of Education offers coeducational teacher certification programs as well as graduate degree programs in counseling, teacher preparation, advanced curriculum design, and administration. Special features of the program include:

  • Curriculum designed to meet the needs of educators in all stages of their careers
  • Highly qualified full-time and adjunct faculty from the professional and academic community
  • Courses conveniently scheduled in the late afternoon, evenings, weekends, and selected full-time daytime programs
  • Fall, Spring, and Summer sessions as well as intensive courses and seminars
  • In-service and pre-service teacher training
  • Accelerated certification programs

All School of Education programs are approved by the DC State Education Agency and meet requirements for state certification.

Additionally, the School is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). More info.

Certification Programs
To enable qualified individuals to pursue teaching certification, especially in communities facing teacher shortages, the Trinity offers a variety of programs:

  • An alternative certification program for aspiring teachers
  • An ESOL certification program to enhance the skills of current teachers
  • Professional Development Workshops for current teachers
