Academic Success and Writing Style Guide: Succeeding as a Graduate Student
This Guide was prepared to assist students in their transition into the School Education's graduate programs. We drew upon faculty experience; information from The Adult Learner's Guide to College Success, revised ed., (Smith, L.N. & Walter, T., 1990); the Trinity Writing Center; and material provided in guides and manuals for graduate students at other universities. Please take the time to read it thoroughly and consider the suggestions carefully. The Guide is in 8 sections. Download the Guide in PDF format.

The School of Education works in partnership with Trinity's neighboring school districts. These agencies license teachers and other professional personnel. For more specific information, please contact the School of Education (202/884-9555).

DC Teaching Fellows
The DC Teaching Fellows program is dedicated to the belief that public schools can work, but they must be staffed and led by talented and accomplished professionals. The program recruits applicants who are educated in another field but wish to devote themselves to the education of urban youth. These teacher candidates have to be able to demonstrate commitment and achievement in past endeavors. DCTF seeks creative minded, patient, and flexible candidates who understand the level of dedication it takes to improve a system – one classroom at a time.
New Leaders for New Schools
New Leaders for New Schools is dedicated to promoting high levels of academic achievement for every child. The program selects and trains passionate and results-focused individuals, from within education, as well as former educators, to become urban public school principals.
