About the Counseling Program

Trinity offers two Master of Arts in Counseling degrees.  The 48-credit degree has a focus on School Counseling, while the 60-credit degree provides students with the academic course requirements for state licensure (LPC). Both programs include practicum and internship assignments, with sites available in DC, Maryland, and Virginia.

Trinity Students Impress at DCCA Conference

Students in Trinity’s Master of Arts in Counseling program presented their research at the 43rd Annual Conference of the District of Columbia Counseling Association (DCCA) on March 1.  The Conference theme was “The Counseling Profession is Unique and Vital:  Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow.”

Students Gemma Camacho, Jose Medrano, Caroline Young, and Erica Young worked with the program chair, Ray Adomaitis, Ph.D., to develop their presentation titled “A Working Model for Counseling Immigrants and Refugees.”  The presentation focused on Washington’s transformation over the last decade with the arrival of immigrant families and refugees from all corners of the world.  Contact Dr. Adomaitis (adomaitisr@trinitydc.edu) for additional information.
