2004 Spring Semester Courses

Trinity College announces three courses in its graduate and advanced undergraduate certificate program for the 2004 Spring Semester (January 21 - May 12, 2004):

INAF 501: Trafficking into the US: Prevention, Protection, Prosecution

The course examines trends in international trafficking as they relate to the United States. Emphasis is placed on recent legislation passed by the U.S. Congress and challenges confronting national and local government entities mandated to implement prevention, protection, and prosecution components of the legislation. Attention is also given to the role played by non-governmental organizations in combating the effects of trafficking in the U.S. (Monday, from 6:30 -10:00PM, commencing March 22, 2004).

INAF 507: Intelligence Applications in International Migration

This course, taught by Tom Copeland of LexisNexis, will address how to improve research and information management on international migration issues through intelligence applications. It will also review intelligence methodologies used for collecting, compiling, analyzing and corroborating information. The course will identify issues and problems in which intelligence is applicable in the international migration field. (Tuesday, 6:30-10:00pm, commencing January 20, 2004)

INAF 570: Migration and Gender Issues in Russia and the Former Soviet Union

This course analyzes migration in Russia since the collapse of the Soviet Union, emphasizing the particular vulnerability of women and children. It focuses on the unprecedented situation in which several million Russians suddenly became foreigners in new countries It also creates a panorama of worldwide migration process through an examination of contemporary Russia. (Wednesday, 6:30-10.00pm, commencing January 21, 2004)
