The Trinity College Haiti Program, in conjunction with the National Organization for the Advancement of Haitians (NOAH), held a day-long symposium on "Economic Development in Haiti: Investment, International Assistance and Governance" on March 1, 2002 at Trinity College.

Symposium participants included representatives of the Government of Haiti, and a variety of officials from the US and other governments, international organizations, donors, think tanks, and Haitian-American Diaspora organizations. Topics discussed included investment programs and strategies in Haiti, international investment and assistance, and public policies and programs. Among the presentations was one on the proposed Hispaniola Investment Fund. Congresswoman Corrine Brown (D-FL), a member of the Congressional Black Caucus, spoke at the buffet luncheon in the Social Hall in Trinity's Main Hall, where all symposium activities occurred. A complete Rapporteur Report will be released in early April and posted on this site. To view the symposium's agenda, click here.
