Elizabeth Cupidon, an undergraduate research assistant with Programs in International Affairs at Trinity College, is currently completing her sophomore year at Trinity. She is a Business Administration major.

Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Elizabeth moved to the United States with her brother in 1997. A native speaker of both, French and Creole, Elizabeth faced the considerable challenge of learning English, so she could succeed at school in her new country. Elizabeth completed that challenge, graduating in 1999 from Sherwood High School in Sandy Spring, MD. While in high school, she was active in International Club, helping the French and Creole speakers.

As an undergraduate research assistant, Elizabeth is particularly active in providing support to the activities of the Trinity College Haiti Program. She has helped the program organize special events with the National Organization for the Advancement of Haitians (NOAH) and the Toussaint L'ouverture Historical Society. During the summer of 2001, Elizabeth served as an assistant to field researchers involved in the Caribbean Transnational Micro-Enterprise Project, research project sponsored jointly by Trinity College and Georgetown University.
