Trinity's Bachelor of Arts degree in International
Affairs is an interdisciplinary degree available to all full-time
and part-time undergraduate students. A minor in International
Affairs is also offered.
Trinity's BA in International Affairs has
been developed to take maximum advantage of the experiences, skills
and research interests in international issues of the institution's
diverse faculty. Classroom work and student interests are enhanced
by Trinity's location in a city that is on the cutting edge of
involvement in global issues and international affairs.
Students are assisted in developing contacts
with international organizations located in Washington, DC, through
internships and by way of their participation in meetings, seminars
and symposia in international issues sponsored by those organizations,
as well as by the broad array of Washington-based US government
agencies and non-governmental organizations involved in international
affairs. Student research in international issues is facilitated
significantly by the access to these agencies and organizations
that is accorded by Trinity's proximity to them.
While students are encouraged to take the
campus shuttle van to the nearby Brookland Metro station and go
'downtown' to participate in various events, participation is
sometimes as easy as strolling to a meeting or conference room
on campus to attend an extra-curricular activity on an international
issue organized under the auspices of Programs in International
Affairs and by individual faculty members. Many faculty members
also include presentations by Washington-based international affairs
experts in their course syllabi. For students seeking a BA in
International Affairs as a key to unlocking a door that can lead
to a career in international affairs, Trinity is the
place to be!
