Interim Provost Carlota Ocampo, Ph.D.
Dr. Carlota Ocampo is the Interim Provost for Trinity Washington University and leads the Office of Academic Affairs, which supervises the planning, delivery, and assessment of Trinity’s academic and co-curricular programs. Prior to entering administration, she taught for many years as a tenured associate professor of psychology at Trinity (a title she retains). She received her Ph.D. in Neuropsychology from Howard University in 1997; her teaching and research interests encompass the interactions among diversity, psychology of oppression, and health. Her most recent educational works explore pedagogical reform with the changing student population; her psychological publications focus on racist-incident based trauma and on ethnicity, gender and disease. She was recently accepted to the American Psychological Association’s Leadership Institute for Women in Psychology (LIWP). She enjoys interacting with students and working in higher education administration as Trinity’s Interim Provost.

Sarah Wilson, Assistant Provost
Sarah Wilson supports operations in Academic Affairs including administrative duties related to course scheduling, academic catalog, faculty scholarship, and academic assessment. Ms. Wilson also is the first point of contact for questions about Academic Honesty and oversees and convenes the Academic Honesty Review Board.

Shizuka Hsieh, Ph.D., Assistant Provost for the Sciences, Associate Professor of Chemistry
Dr. Shizuka Hsieh works directly with all Science faculty in supporting the delivery and development of science curricula, including courses that support other majors. Dr. Hsieh can also address questions about developing programs.

Kathelon Toliver, Assistant to the Provost
Kathelon Toliver supports the Academic Affairs Office by working directly with the Provost and other colleagues on projects that involve full- and part-time faculty as well as other comprehensive projects that support the College of Arts and Sciences, including the Academic Calendar. Kathelon also works directly with the faculty services team to facilitate and support their efforts.

Katie Wanschura, Director of Instructional Technologies
Katie Wanschura is students’ and faculty members’ first point of contact for questions about Moodle, Trinity’s learning management system. She also works directly with the Information Technology Team and Academic Affairs in coordinating and developing support for instructional technologies at Trinity.

LaWander McFarland, Coordinator of Faculty Services
LaWander McFarland works direcly with the faculty to ensure that their office and classroom necessities are met. Whether it’s printing course materials, setting-up technology, or ordering supplies, LaWander is the “go to” person for all adminstrative tasks that help support our faculty.

Cassandra Boston, Administrative Assistant of Faculty Services
Cassandra Boston is the newest member of our Faculty Services team. She provides customer service and administrative support to our faculty and students by assisting with class cancellations, technology cart set-up, and distributing mail.
