Dr. Bwekia Steen and Dr. Gladys Williams Invited to Serve on the Washington Area Women’s Foundation

 
 

Dr. Bwekia Steen and Dr. Gladys Williams have been invited to serve on the Washington Area Women’s Foundation Early Learning Workforce Committee. The Washington Region Early Care and Education Workforce Network was formed in response to a report released by the National Academy of Sciences entitled, “Transforming the Workforce for Children Birth Through Age 8: A Unifying Foundation. The charge of the academy is to implement recommendations within the report.

Additionally Dr. Steen has been invited by the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) and Assistant Superintendent of Early Learning, Elizabeth Groginsky, to serve on the Advisory Committee to the Early Head Start- Child Care Partnership grant (EHC-CC). The OSSE EHC-CC grant will support the development and implantation of the District of Columbia’s Early Learning Quality Improvement Network, intended to increase access and enhance the quality of early care and education in infants and toddlers.
