Mia Ray Presents Poster Presentation at HAPS 2015 Annual Conference

 
 

Dr. Mia Ray, Clare Booth Luce Assistant Professor of Biology, presented a poster presentation tilted, ” Poetry Assignments Increase Student Performance in Anatomy and Physiology” at the Human Anatomy and Physiology Society (HAPS) Conference in San Antonio, TX on May 25, 2015. The poster was well received and was featured in Benjamin Miller’s article, “Engaging Undergraduate Students in Human Anatomy and Physiology Courses: Review of Poster Presentations from the HAPS 2015 Annual Conference”, in the Journal of the Human Anatomy and Physiology Society.  Additionally, Dr. Ray’s education snippet on poetry assignments in AP was also published in the aforementioned journal.

Lastly, Dr. Ray was selected to participate in the Biology Scholars Program Assessment Residency for 2015 – 2016 sponsored by the American Society for Microbiology.  The professional development program is designed for biologist who are motivated to enhance and measure effective student learning.
