Moitra's Students Present at the 2nd Annual dmvCAPS Research Conference

Students of Dr. Karobi Moitra, Clare Boothe Luce Assistant Professor of Molecular Biology, presented at the 2nd Annual dmvCAPS (Greater Washington Area American Physiological Society) Research Conference at George Washington University on November 21. Michelle Jaldin, Sonia Garcia, Clementine Etoundi and Donna Cooper presented research work on the genetic disease- Pseudoxanthoma elasticum. The poster was titled, “Novel variants in patients with Pseudoxanthoma elasticum identified by next generation sequencing technology”. Research was conducted under the mentorship of Dr. Moitra and funded through her Clare Booth Luce funds. Sevilay Turan, the Science Department Laboratory Manager at Trinity, also contributed research for the presentation but did not attend the conference.

Dr. Moitra reports that her students were the only undergraduate poster presenters at the conference, among graduate students and post-docs, and conducted themselves in exemplary manner.
