Gable and San Juan Presented at Southeastern American Society for 18th-Century Studies

Dr. Steven Gable (Assistant Professor of Philosophy) and Dr. Minerva San Juan (Associate Professor and Program Chair of Philosophy) both presented papers at the 40th Meeting of the Southeastern American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies, which took place February 27-March 1, 2014 in Knoxville, TN.  Their papers were part of a panel chaired by Dr. Keith Pacholl (University of West Georgia) that was titled, “Constructing the Eighteenth Century: David Hume, Mary Wollstonecraft, and George Walker.”  Dr. Gable’s paper was titled, “David Hume and Social Recollection”; Dr. San Juan’s paper was titled, “Historical Memory and Imagined Ideals: Construction ‘Self-Governance’ from Gendered Experience: Mary Wollstonecraft.”  Further information about the conference is available online in the conference program.
