Allison wins Milken Educator Award

Kena Allison, Adjunct Professor in the Office of Continuing Education, recently won a Milken Educator Award worth $25,000, which the Milken Family Foundation presents to “early-to-mid career education professionals for their already impressive achievements and, more significantly, for the promise of what they will accomplish in the future.”  On October 24, 2013, Professor Allison was surprised with the award at her school, Thurgood Marshall Academy, at a school-wide assembly, at which Mike Milken announced that she had won the award.  You can watch a video of Professor Allison’s inspiring speech to the assembly online, and you can also read more about Professor Allison on the Milken Educator Award page.  There is also an article in The Washington Post about the award and the assembly.
